Today is a very difficult one for all of us. While Dillon is always in our thoughts and hearts, today puts his memory directly in the front of our minds. However when I think of my nephew I see his uniquely bright smile and wonderful flowing hair and cannot help but smile myself. That is the vision I see as I think of him today and always. I miss him more than words can express and the hole in my heart will always be there, but I try and think of all that was good in him and focus on that and not the pain that endures. I am thrilled that my son Jon will be out with Harriet, Steve and Taylor this evening to be with them . On belhalf of us all on the East Cioast he will give them a huge hug which often says nore than any words. To all who read this, think of and remmember Dillon and his great smile and heart always: not just on days like today when the sensation is hightened by what has passed but as you go forward and make the future a better place for Dillon and you being a part of the wordls. 1-4-3 always and a day Uncle Alan

I have to say that i was extrememly hesitant to write on this site because honestly i just do not know what words I could use or what story I could share that demonstrates what an outrageous human being Dillon was. I had known dillon since we were in pre-school. We both grew up in rustic canyon. His house at 801 Latimer, mine at 801 Brooktree. We then went to elementary school together, and then high school. All through my life dillon has always been there, even if we weren’t hanging out everyday i could always trust to see his face waiting in the quad, watching tons of kids gravitate towards him at lunch. He was a magnet. I know that my life would have been different if i didnt know dillon, he introduced me to half the kids at pali i know today, he MADE me audition for fall festival in 9th grade and now i have done almost every drama activity there is to offer. He was just such an amazing kid, who had the biggest impact on me not only when he passed, but when he was alive. I don’t think he knew this though, and i really wish he did now. There is just so much more I owe to him because he gave me so much. He made me laugh, he made me feel comfortable, he made me want to try in school. I remember hearing him talk about his AP classes, and how hard

Dear Harriet, Steve, and Taylor, We have been thinking about Dillon more than ever as the different benchmarks of the school year come and go. Like everyone else, we are wishing that he was here, enjoying every one of those to the fullest extent possible. It looks like so much is being accomplished all over the world in his memory, and this would make him so happy. It is really an amazing tribute to the kind of person he grew to be that he touched so many lives in such a short time. We feel fortunate to have had the time and memories with him that we did. He was amazing and continues to be. We love you all. Liz & Dick

Please leave your comment here Well, It’s February, 2010. My son, Carl, my daughter Malauka and I still talk about and think about Dillon often. He impacted our lives. We cherish and appreciate the time he was in our lives. As Carl and Dillon grew up, Malauka and I watched countless soccer games and basketball games that Carl and Dillon played together in. It was such a joy to see them play, during practices and games together; both empassioned by the camaraderie, the drive, the love for the game and the teamwork that the games entailed. Dillon’s love of life, his inclusivity and ability to make everyone he came in contact with feel important and welcome, his desire to make a difference in this world and his ability to appreciate the moment fully, whatever that moment happened to be, continues to provide daily inspiration to me. Thank you, Dillon and much Love and Light to Harriet, Steve and Taylor. Admin reply: So wonderful to hear from you Unity! I know Taylor just was on facebook with Carl…thank you for keeping Dillon in your thougthts and in your hearts always. Each day goes by and we seem to miss Dillon more and more.

dillon, not one day goes by that i don’t think of you. whether i am at school, driving, in the shower, or in my dreams, i am always reminded of you and all the beautiful things you have done in the world. i started crying when i saw the photo of the dillion henry hospital in darfur. you were a special kid. the earth is not our home. life on this planet is not our real lives. our true lives, where we live forever and ever come after we leave this earth. i am so jealous that you have moved on to there. sometimes i wish this would be over so i can see what happens next, to see all my friends that have left me here, to see you again. we all think about you every single day. i smiled, i smiled a huge smile when i saw your dad at nick’s funeral on sunday. it felt like you were at nick’s funeral. i am so glad your dad was there. i always see your parents in the palisades village, and i always see you with them. they are so strong, so brave. i admire them. dillon, you have inspired me in so many ways: my writing, my thinking, my views on the world. i’ve grown up alot. i aspire to be more like you. you were loved by everyone you met. i want to have as big an impact as you did. i miss you and love you

It hit me today that next month will be 15 years since I’ve seen you, yet it feels like just yesterday you were here. I still see your smile in so many of my happiest moments, like the angel on my shoulder patting me on the back when I do something you’d be proud of. But also you’re there when I’m at my saddest, always there to pick me up and remind me of the love and beauty there is in this world. You always knew how to see the bright side of any situation and always found time to smell the flowers. I find myself wondering what you’d be doing right now and how this world today desperately could use a big helping of that compassion and optimism you shed on so many of us. I guess I just wanted to post here and say I love you and miss you. Your family is beautiful and continues to do so much good and keep your smile shining over so many people, you’d really be proud. I hope you’re up there having a great time.

You would have turned 32 on September 24th 2021 We gathered around Pali High with the twins new food truck and friends to talk about you and remember. My sadness and longing persists and some days the struggle is tremendous. It is only through your sister and efforts to improve the lives of others, that life has any clarity. Oh, what I would give to see your smile and feel one of your famous hugs…

As I was unable to post a video on Dillon’s birthday, I decided to write my favorite memory here… I loved that Dillon wanted to be at Rustic Canyon Co-op Nursery School each and every year to help out! He was a great worker, and he really enjoyed the kids and all of the fun that we had each and every day during the summer sessions. One of my favorite photos that I have found through the years is all of us roasting marshmallows around our “campfire” during Western Week at school. I have so much love for Dillon!
