In 9th grade I organized a group of us to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, a fundraising walk they do every year, where you and a team of friends pledge to take shifts walking around a track for twenty four hours raise money for cancer research. Dillon, me and five of our other friends were all on a team together, and throughout the day we took turns walking around the track, but when night came and we had to walk the later shifts everyone went back to our tent and fell asleep; everyone except Dillon and me. I felt it was my responsibility to keep walking because i was the group leader and he didn’t think it was fair to leave me walking all by myself at 2 in the morning. He was the only one who stayed awake with me and we walked around the track and listened to Jack Johnson on my ipod and talked about life. They are the simple but meaningful moments like that that I miss the most about Dillon. He was such a caring and beautiful person.
